Default Put Numbers Next to Names in PvE

So monks can see field of view and select targets to heal more easily. Please? This is implemented in PvP I don't see why not in PvE as well.

edit: I mean so monks can select party members using shortkeys easily by simply seeing who is getting hit, the number next to their name and pressing two buttons.

Also this change is not very difficult.

edit2:

Next to your name below the feet of your character:
<Your Name> (1)

No numbers above your head, no nothing, just extra numbers after your name.

Seeing how much of PvE is done with heroes, that needs to be fixed before this will do anything useful. (In theory not hard though... number next to the hero/hench's name?) Furthermore let's stick it in the front of their name, not the back, while we're at it.

Whats the difference though? You can select them with the number pad.

So you can immediately see what key you have to press, isntead of memorizing every group you join and remembering what numbers they were?

because you dont know what number they are without looking at the party screen, and figuring out what number they are. if the number is next to their name in the field it is easier to heal them because you cut out a full step in the process of healing them

The difference is ease of use. It saves a split second every time to press num3, or whatever hotkey is assigned, for party member # 3 if you can see the (3) next to their name rather than counting or whatnot.

I see no downside to this, and it can potentially make targetting easier. It is already done in PvP, so why not?

As long as you can toggle it on and off :P I for one would find it quite annoying.

An excellent suggestion, so long as this is present.

That's not really hard. It's what, eight people on average? 12 at the most?

Not hard at all.

When there's a big shitstorm of 12 players, 20 minions and 20ish enemies flying around your screen it makes an amazing difference not having to check your party bars to land a prot.

Of course, you're probably of the redbarsgoup pve mentality anyway.

I understand monks are not prone to pre-prot in PvE, but on the offchance that they do, numbers would help. If you do not pre prot often I understand why you might not be for this idea.

If you mean a number above players heads so you can easier see who is rushing into aggro (because we all know it's not always who it's supposed to be when there's pugs involved) then I'd sign for that. Often the time between seeing someone rush off, working out who it is, then finding them on the party screen, then catching up to prot just takes too long and they're dead before you can get a skill off.

If you haven't tried it in PvP, heroes make this whole system useless because they don't count for the numbering. So if norgu is in slot #7, person in slot #8 gets a (7) next to their name, and you hit 7 on the keyboard to heal them and get norgu instead.

I see no reason for this not to be the case already. Not really necessary in PvE, as that is easy enough already, but its not a reason for there not to be uniformity.

As currently you see someone needs heal (i take it you have healthbars enabled on your teamm8s) but to target them you need to check the name, then find said name in the teamlist (if you have closed it for more view on the screen, also remember which key brings it up), then click said teammember and press resurrection instead ;
or instead of watching what is going on and enjoying the game, watch the teamlist ALL the time and get stuck on all the scenery ...

I can see this would make it less a hassle to heal and enjoy the game more, you can now concentrate on the action, see Nr.1 needs healing, press the hotkey and heal
